60" or 55"  Long Fabric - Suggested Width is 36-44 inches wide, which will make a 59" x 17-21" wide bag. Use an 18" Opening.

40-45" Wide Fabric - Suggested Width is 1 yard, which will make a 17" wide bag. Use 15" Opening

As long as there have been people there has been stuff, and a need to carry that stuff. This is a simple solution for an everyday disposable item which is why we don't have an extant example to work from. We do, however, have examples that show it did indeed exist during period.

Double-sided pouch from a relief on the Martebo Church on Gotland, Sweden. This pouch is also called the fassing "stuffed" bag. The church itself was built in the 14th century with a 13th c baptismal font.
